ICC Kyoto is located in an area with a beautiful natural environment in Kyoto city, yet it is only a direct 20-minute subway ride from Kyoto Station. It is just a 5-minute walk from Kokusaikaikan Station on the Karasuma Subway Line.
With over 70 meeting rooms, ICC Kyoto covers a vast site of 156,000 sqm, featuring the Main Building, Annex Hall, Event Hall, New Hall. It also boasts Japanese garden where visitors can enjoy seasonal natural beauties in between meetings. Together with the adjacent hotel, The Prince Kyoto Takaragaike, the site serves as a state‐of‐the‐art complex devoted exclusively to conferences since its first openings in 1966.
About Venue
Climate and Clothing
The temperature in Kyoto in September is both hot and humid with the average temperature high at 29°C and low at 20°C. Take proper measures to prevent heatstroke by choosing proper clothes or bringing items such as a parasol or hat.
In indoor facilities, the air conditioner may be highly effective, so we recommend bringing a layer of clothing even though it is hot and humid outside.
Currency
The official currency of Japan is the yen.
You can exchange money at airports, major banks, currency exchange outlets in the city or at large hotels and department stores. Business Center of ICC Kyoto also offers currency exchange from major currency to Japanese yen for the convenience of conference visitors.
Most hotels, major department stores and restaurants accept credit cards such as VISA, Master, JCB, Amex and Diners.
Local Time
Japan is 9 hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT +9). Japan does not adopt the practice of Daylight-Saving Time or Summer Time.
Language
The official language is Japanese, but English is widely understood in major cities and tourist sites.

Plugs & Electricity
Voltage in Japan is 100V A.C. with the frequency of electric current is 60HZ in Kyoto and western Japan and use a 2-flat-pin plug Type-A. It may be necessary for you to use the adapter and a transformer for your electrical equipment.
Drinking Water
Tap water is safe to drink anywhere in Japan. Mineral water, including major imported brands, can be purchased from vending machines and various shops.
Smoking
Smoking is prohibited in most buildings and train stations, except in designated smoking areas.
TAX
A 10% consumption tax is included in all purchases except for products subject to a reduced tax rate. For international visitors, duty-free shopping is available at major department stores and shopping malls.
Internet Access
Free Wi-Fi is available in the conference center building. Many hotels, convenience stores and public areas also have free Wi-Fi spots. In Kyoto, "KYOTO Wi-Fi" is available at Seven-Eleven convenience stores, shops, and public facilities.
Mobile Phones
You can use your mobile phone in Japan with global roaming. Renting or purchasing SIM cards is also available at the major airports.
