Greeting

I am pleased to announce that the 32nd Annual Meeting of the Japanese Breast Cancer Society (32JBCS) will be convened from July 11 to 13, 2024 in Sendai. It is my great honor and I will do my best and keep that in mind.

In 2011, the Annual Meeting of the Japanese Breast Cancer Society (JBCS) was convened in Sendai under the President Noriaki Ohuchi and it was the year of the Great East Japan Earthquake occurred. Since the building of Sendai International Center have had severe damage, the meeting was rescheduled 2 months later and convened in September. More than 5,000 people from all over Japan participated in and gave us huge support as the first nationwide society after the Great East Japan Earthquake. Now new subway line has been built and station and Sendai International Center are directly connected. The Annual Meeting of the JBCS is convened in Sendai after 13 years and I would like everyone to see the recovered Sendai.

This theme of 32JBCS is “Gathering knowledge for the benefit of society: Shaping the world ahead”. I recognize that all your study from basic science to clinical research every day is for the patients. I hope you would have active discussion on not only what we can do and must do now, but also what we can achieve in breast medical care 10 or 20 years later.

This meeting will provide various programs such as symposium of prospective theme and urgent issues, sessions organized by next generation which is established by the ex-president, Shinji Ohno and joint session with related societies and groups.
