On Friday, September 4, the Second Qualifying Round, semi-finals, and final of the MIS Championship will be held.

Representatives from participating countries will compete for the championship title.

All competitions are open to spectators.
We warmly invite you to stop by the venue and show your support for the participating teams.
If a representative from your country is competing, please come along and cheer them on!

Semi-Finals & Final: Held during Japan Night

The semi-finals and final, featuring the competitors who advance from the Second Qualifying Round, will be held during Japan Night that evening.

Japan Night is a free social gathering open to all participants, beginning at 18:15 in Exhibition Hall B & C.

During Japan Night, you will have the opportunity to watch the MIS Championship semi-finals and final, followed by the announcement of the final results.

We encourage you to join us for Japan Night, enjoy the competition, and show your support for the representatives from each country.

Call for Participants: MIS Championship!!

The preliminary round of the MIS Championship is taking place, Thursday, September 3!
We are now calling for participants from countries that have not yet entered the competition.

If your country has not registered yet, why not step up and represent your country?
This is your chance to take the challenge, compete on the international stage!

Eligibility & Registration Process

• Team Composition:
• Each team must consist of three (3) primary participants.

• Backup Members:
• Up to two (2) additional members may be registered as backups.

• Country Representation:
• Each country may have only one (1) official team, which must be registered through their National Society.

• International Invitations:
• Invitations will be sent through National and Regional Societies.

• WCES Registration:
• All participants must be registered for WCES-JSES 2026.

• No Age or Graduation Year Restriction:
• The competition is open to all eligible surgeons regardless of their age or years since graduation.

• Organizing Committee Restriction:
• Members of the organizing committee are not allowed to participate as contestants.

Competition Format

• Participants will be evaluated on essential MIS skills such as:
• Suturing techniques
• Knot tying proficiency
• TAPP hernia repair procedures
• Other endo-laparoscopic skills

• The competition will be judged by a panel of renowned international experts.
• The schedule and specific event details will be shared with registered teams before the competition.

Prizes & Recognition

• The winning team will receive prestigious awards and benefits as described on the WCES 2026 website and official leaflet.
