The 45th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Congress of Neurological Surgeons Congress President Akihide KONDO Department of Neurosurgery, Juntendo University Faculty of Medicine |

Dear Esteemed Colleagues,
With great excitement, I announce the upcoming 45th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Congress of Neurological Surgeons, to be held in Yokohama from May 15th (Thursday) to May 18th (Sunday), 2025.
Since its inception in 1980, our congress has maintained a unique tradition: the format where all attendees hear each speaker’s lecture. In an era of increasing specialization, this approach remains rare but essential for preserving the quality of neurosurgical education. We are committed to continuing this legacy.
The theme of this academic gathering is "Lifelong Learning, Lasting Legacies". Inspired by our society’s emblem, which bears the inscription "Ancora imparo" (I am still learning), we emphasize the necessity of lifelong learning. The term "legacy" conveys tradition and the transmission of valuable knowledge to future generations. Thus, our subtitle, "活学活用" (Active Learning, Practical Application), draws from a Chinese proverb: "Learn with a connection to reality, and apply what you have learned."
Our promotional posters, featuring overlapping profiles, symbolize the integration of wisdom from our esteemed predecessors with the latest knowledge, guiding us in making informed clinical decisions.
Our carefully curated lineup of speakers is aligned with the congress’s core purpose: to delve into the latest knowledge and its practical applications. During this academic gathering, we have meticulously designed sessions that explore the intersection of neurosurgery with society, academic contributions from the field, and the role of neurosurgery in an aging society.
While we plan for live and on-demand streaming, we encourage all members to join us in person. This is an opportunity to engage with experts across disciplines, ask questions, and foster interdisciplinary connections.
We eagerly await your presence in Yokohama, in early summer 2025. Your participation in our congress is sincerely appreciated.
Warm regards,
