As part of its commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, the Japan Radiological Society (JRS) offers the following two support programs for its members.
Eligible applicants may apply for both programs [1] and [2].
[1] Early-career Researchers Support Program
This program offers complimentary on-site registration for the next Annual Meeting to first authors of General Research Presentations who have not yet obtained board certification as a diagnostic or therapeutic radiologist.
Eligibility Criteria: Must meet all conditions (a), (b), and (c).
- (a)
- Has not yet obtained board certification as a diagnostic or therapeutic radiologist. (*Board-certified diagnostic and therapeutic radiologists are not eligible.)
- (b)
- Is currently enrolled in or has completed a radiology residency program and plans to obtain board certification as a diagnostic or therapeutic radiologist in the future.
- (c)
- Is the first author of a General Research Presentation (Oral + Electronic Poster).
All applicants who meet the criteria are eligible for this support. Please note that the complimentary registration will be provided only to those who attend the next Annual Meeting on-site.
After the abstract acceptance notification, applicants will receive further information regarding the complimentary registration for the next Annual Meeting.
[2] Encouragement Award
This is an encouragement award for first authors of General Research Presentations (Oral + Electronic Poster) who fall into any of the categories (a), (b), or (c) below.
- (a)
- Affiliated with a medical institution with fewer than 600 beds.
- (b)
- Currently raising a preschool-aged child or younger (regardless of gender).
- (c)
- Individuals who are registered as having a disability.
After the acceptance notification for abstracts, the JRS office will send an application guidance email to all authors of accepted General Research Presentations (Oral + Electronic Poster). Please follow the instructions in the email to apply.
Winners will be selected from the applicants through a rigorous review process.
