  • If selected as a finalist, be able to attend and deliver an oral presentation on Friday, April 17, 2026.

How to Apply

  • Select “Apply for Young Investigator Awards” during the online submission process for General Research Presentations.
  • Authors who pass the first-round review will be required to submit a separate, more detailed abstract for the second-round review.
  • Applicants may apply for multiple awards if the eligibility criteria for each are met.

Selection Process

  1. First-round Review: Reviewers will score the submitted abstracts. The top-scoring abstracts among those accepted for presentation will be selected to advance to the second round.
  2. Second-round Review: The selection committee will evaluate the abstracts submitted for the second round and select approximately six finalists.
  3. Final Review: Finalists will deliver an oral presentation during the Awards Session at the Annual Meeting. The final winners will be determined based on the scores from the final review committee (composed of 3 peer reviewers and 3 publicly recruited reviewers).
  • Scoring will be based on predetermined criteria. Adjustments may be made to correct for inter-reviewer variability if necessary.
  • Abstracts selected for the final review will not be presented in other oral presentation sessions (i.e., the presentation will be given only once during the Awards Session).
  • If a candidate is selected as a finalist for more than one award, the nomination for the higher-ranking award will take precedence. An individual cannot win multiple awards for the same presentation.
