The WCES–JSES 2026 MIS Championship is a high-profile international event highlighting outstanding minimally invasive surgical performance. Taking place at PACIFICO Yokohama during WCES 2026 (September 2–5, 2026), it offers a unique on-site stage for teams worldwide to demonstrate advanced endo-laparoscopic capabilities.

Eligibility & Registration Process

• Team Composition:
• Each team must consist of three (3) primary participants.

• Backup Members:
• Up to two (2) additional members may be registered as backups.

• Country Representation:
• Each country may have only one (1) official team, which must be registered through their National Society.

• International Invitations:
• Invitations will be sent through National and Regional Societies.

• WCES Registration:
• All participants registered for WCES-JSES 2026.

• No Age or Graduation Year Restriction:
• The competition is open to all eligible surgeons regardless of their age or years since graduation.

• Organizing Committee Restriction:
• Members of the organizing committee are not allowed to participate as contestants.

Competition Format

• Participants will be evaluated on essential MIS skills such as:
• Suturing techniques
• Knot tying proficiency
• TAPP hernia repair procedures
• Other endo-laparoscopic skills

• The competition will be judged by a panel of renowned international experts.
• The schedule and specific event details will be shared with registered teams before the competition.

Prizes & Recognition

• The winning team will receive prestigious awards and benefits as described in the WCES 2026 website and official leaflet.
