Dear Colleagues, Friends, and Distinguished Guests,

It is my great honor and sincere pleasure to welcome you to Nagoya for the 2026 Asian Association of Pediatric Surgeons (AAPS) Congress, held in conjunction with the 63rd Annual Congress of the Japanese Society of Pediatric Surgeons (JSPS). We are also privileged to host the WOFAPS Regional Meeting alongside this joint event, making this gathering a truly international celebration of pediatric surgery.
The theme of our meeting—
“Bright Future for Children — Cultivating Skills for a New Era of Pediatric Surgery”—
reflects our shared mission to advance not only surgical techniques, but also education, research, and the humanistic values that form the foundation of our profession. In recent years, innovations in minimally invasive, endoscopic, and robotic surgery have transformed our field at remarkable speed. This congress provides an exceptional opportunity for all of us to exchange ideas, refine our skills, and explore new directions in pediatric surgical care.
We are delighted to welcome distinguished speakers and participants from across Asia and around the world. Their contributions will undoubtedly enrich our scientific program and offer fresh perspectives on the challenges and future opportunities in pediatric surgery.
Ahead of the main congress, we will host a hands-on MIS Workshop on June 9, featuring neonatal and pediatric simulators. This workshop aims to support young surgeons in developing essential operative skills while fostering collaboration with experts, educators, and industry partners involved in surgical technology and innovation.
Nagoya Convention Hall, located within walking distance of Nagoya Station, offers excellent accessibility and a comfortable environment for scientific exchange, networking, and international collaboration. My team and I are working diligently to ensure that this meeting will be both academically fulfilling and personally rewarding for all participants.
Thank you for joining us in Nagoya. I look forward to welcoming each of you and sharing an inspiring and memorable congress in 2026.

Warm regards,
Hiroo Uchida
