Koichiro Nandate

After graduating from the School of Medicine at the University of Occupational and Environmental Health in March 1992, Dr. Nandate completed initial postgraduate clinical training at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Yokosuka and the University Hospital of Occupational and Environmental Health. Following the completion of anesthesia and intensive care medicine specialization training at Kokura Memorial Hospital, Dr. Nandate pursued further clinical and research training in cardiac anesthesia and heart-lung transplantation as a fellow at the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom for two years. Seven years after Dr. Nandate returned from the United Kingdom to Japan in June 1999, he worked as a faculty in the Departments of Anesthesia and Emergency and Intensive Care at the University of Occupational and Environmental Health Hospital. In June 2006, Dr. Nandate relocated to the United States, initially working at the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center at Pennsylvania State University for approximately two years. From August 2008 onwards, Dr. Nandate has been employed in the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine at the University of Washington faculty of Medicine. Dr. Nandate is currently engaged in clinical practice at Harborview Medical Center, a prominent Level 1 trauma center in Seattle.

1953年（昭和28年）に鹿児島県薩摩郡宮之城町（現さつま町）に生まれ、1972年4 月に北海道大学に進学。

また企業外活動として、

• 内閣府科学技術イノベーション政策専門委員
• ファインセラミック国際標準化委員会会長、
• 九州IE協会会長
• 北九州商工会議所副会頭
• 北九州環境産業推進会議会長

などを歴任。多岐にわたる経験と知識が買われ、複数企業から経営スクールの講師として招聘を受け、若手企業人育成に従事中。
