Welcome Message

It is my great honor to welcome you to the 21st Asian Society for Neuro-Oncology (ASNO) Annual Meeting, which will held from June 12 (Friday) to June 14 (Sunday), 2026, at Ishikawa Ongakudo in Kanazawa, Japan. It is a privilege to host esteemed colleagues in this historic and culturally rich city. ASNO serves as a vital platform for advancing neuro-oncology research and clinical practice in Asia while fostering meaningful exchanges among experts.

Having participated in the first ASNO meeting in Kumamoto in 2002, I have had the privilege of witnessing and accompanying the remarkable journey of ASNO. It is no exaggeration to say that the development of neuro-oncology in Asia has progressed hand in hand with ASNO. Initially founded by Japan, Korea, China, Taiwan, and Turkey, ASNO has since expanded to include many Asian countries, with participation continuing to grow. The 2026 meeting marks the fourth time Japan will host ASNO, following successful meetings in 2002, 2009, and 2017.

ASNO 2026 will partially be in conjunction with the 44th Annual Meeting of the Japan Society of Brain Tumor Pathology (President: Professor Mishie Tanino, Asahikawa Medical University, June 11–12). Recognizing these meetings as an integrated academic event, we are planning joint sessions that will provide valuable insights for all participants. Both conferences will be united under the theme: "Visionary Wisdom ~ Hope for Patients ~". We aim to delve into the cutting-edge research findings, innovative treatment approaches, and the future of international collaboration—all with the shared mission of bringing hope to those affected by brain tumors. We look forward to engaging in dynamic discussions with experts from around the world, sharing innovative knowledge, and shaping the next generation of neuro-oncology.

Kanazawa, with its harmonious blend of tradition and modernity, offers an inspiring setting for both academic exchange and cultural exploration. I hope you will take the opportunity to experience its beautiful landscapes, exquisite cuisine, and warm hospitality.
I sincerely look forward to your participation in ASNO 2026.
